Session Times and Fees
Please note for 2023:
- Each Group will comprise up to 22 children
- Platypus extended care Group is for Koalas families. This is designed to assist working families by providing an afternoon program for their 4yr old while also considering the needs of each individual child.
Only one (1) Government subsidised place is available per child for 3 and 4yr old preschool. As Hurlingham Preschool is a not for profit service, if your child is attending more than one funded program (ie. an additional long day care Kindergarten program), it is required that Hurlingham Preschool receive the funding for your child, in order to continue providing our service to the community.
A Refundable Volunteer Labour Levy, due in Term 1, is also charged, but is refundable on Term 4 fees if parent/s have attended two Working Bees. If you withdraw your enrolment once the term has commenced, you will be liable for the full term’s fees.
A Non Refundable Enrolment Administration Fee of $100 is payable once you have accepted your offer from Bayside Council and confirmed your place with Hurlingham Preschool.
Kindergarten Registration with Bayside Council
Kindergarten registration period for 2023 enrolment is between 1 May and 19 June 2022. Offers commence Monday 11 July. You will have 7 days to accept of decline your offer. Once you have accepted your offer at Hurlingham Preschool we will be in contact with you. Click on this link for more information.
Group Preference
Families are asked which group is their preference when completing the “Finalising Enrolment Form”. Families will be allocated to groups in line with Victorian Government’s “Priority of Access Eligibility” and upon the time they submit their form.
It is Hurlingham Preschool’s policy that if a group is oversubscribed, then families will be asked to submit a Group Preference Form at a specified date and time, that will then determine group allocation based on a ‘first in, best dressed’ basis. (Please note that children who meet DET’s Priority of Access criteria are allocated to their group preference first in line with DET’s Kindergarten Funding Guidelines)
You will receive an email notification of the group your child has been allocated. If you don’t receive your group preference, you will be placed on a waitlist for that group and will be contacted by the Operations and Enrolments Manager as places arise in your preferred group
Extended Care
Hurlingham Preschool is pleased to offer extended care sessions for our 4yr old Koala Group in 2023 on Tuesday afternoons and Thursday afternoon (subject to demand).
This provides our Koala children the option to stay at kindergarten and participate in the Platypus Program starting straight after the morning session. The Platypus extended care session comprises up to 22 children with a Diploma qualified teacher and educator who provide a stimulating learning environment and adhere to all the same policies and regulations as our other sessions.
Please note that the Extended Care program is an additional cost to the Kindergarten fees. We have based these fees purely around the cost of operating the service, as we are a not for profit organisation. We ask for the same yearly commitment as we do with the kindergarten groups, and the fees will be on the same invoice as your kindergarten fees, paid either per term or annually.
The Extended Care sessions are offered dependent on minimum enrolment numbers and is subject to change based on these numbers. Parents/guardians will be advised prior to any changes being implemented.
