Extended Care Programs

Hurlingham Preschool is pleased to offer our current enrolled community an extended care (wrap around care) session every afternoon during the week. The Platypus Extended Care groups are mixed aged session for both 3 and 4 year olds, providing children the opportunity to make friends from other groups.  This is positive for their social development, will help in their school transition and also brings the kinder community together.  All sessions are fully supervised by two qualified educators and are limited to 22 children.

The children enrolled in the Koala and Echidna groups, whose session is immediately before the Extended Care session, can move seamlessly into the extended care group without a parent/guardian attending the transition if enrolled in the Platypus Extended Care program.  This results in a full days care from 8.30am – 4.30pm for Koalas and 8.30am-4.00pm for Echidnas.

Please note that the Extended Care program is an additional cost to the Kindergarten fees. We have based these fees purely around the cost of operating the service, as we are a not for profit organisation.  We ask for the same yearly commitment as we do with the kindergarten groups, and the fees will be on the same invoice as your kindergarten fees, paid either per term or annually. The Extended Care session is offered dependent on minimum enrolment numbers and is subject to change based on these numbers.  Every effort will be made to advise parents/guardians at least 14 days prior to changes being implemented.

Extended care fees in 2021 are $300 per session. We are hoping to keep the extended care fee at $300 per session in 2022, but this will be confirmed to families in December 2021. (see Fees  for further information).

Positions will be allocated upon completion of the Finalising Enrolment Form and payment of the Non Refundable Enrolment Administration Fee and completing the Extended Care Form. Priority of allocation into Platypus will be given to Koalas on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays . Priority of allocation into Platypus will be given to Echidnas on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Please note in 2021 the extended care timetable is different. There are no vacancies currently for this year.
Please contact the Operations and Enrolment Manager via email or call 0426 206 2020 for further information or to go on the Extended Care waitlists.
