We are delighted winter is over and spring is here! We will be gathering next weekend on Saturday 9th September from 9.30-11.30am for a Special Spring Working Bee.
We applied and were successful in receiving a grant from Bayside Council which will enable us to set up an outdoor kitchen from which we can run the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program! Thank you to our Vice-President, Frances Hoy for her excellent work to make this happen.
Equipment purchased includes food-grade kitchen benches, stools, a gas pizza/oven, aprons and many kitchen gadgets so the kids can measure, mix, chop and cook up some marvellous creations!
Tasks that need completion include:
• Cleaning / clearing the undercover area
• Assembly of flat packs: kitchen benches, stools and connection of the gas pizza oven.
• Sorting / cleaning kitchen gadgets ready for use
• Garden maintenance – weeding, feeding, mulching, raking and planting out the indigenous edible food garden.
As always, children are welcome and a light morning tea will be provided. Attendance will also count towards the refund of your 2017 Building and Maintenance Levy (attendance at 2 working bees required).
Do hope you can join us – your participation will make all the difference!
